It’s official, Donald Trump is coming to Fresno. If you’re reading this, chances are you may have been thinking about attending the protest and may have already created your sign. With all the posts in the event group about “keeping it peaceful” and sensational reports from the media, you may be wondering what to expect and questioning your involvement in the protest. Here are five things you should expect to see:
-
People with signs
-
Lots of chanting
-
Mexican flags, there will definitely be Mexican flags
-
A bunch of cops
-
Heckling from Clovis racists
Ok, I’m being facetious. But seriously, everything will be fine.
Remember to bring bottled water, snacks, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, a hat, a note pad, and any spare sign making supplies for those who come without. Don’t leave your recording devices at home either, you’ll need those to document the day.
Remember, protests can be unpredictable. Go with the flow and have a great time!
My protest sign is mounted on a sheet of plywood with a handle. This way it acts as a shield if any Trump A Hole tries to punch me or a violent cop tries to hit me with a baton or rubber bullet.
