Prophets of Rage Kneel During National Anthem Before Concert

Wearing Kaepernick jerseys the members of Prophets of Rage started their show at the Shoreline Amphitheater by kneeling for the national anthem. Prophets of Rage is the reincarnation of Rage Against the Machine, instead fronted by hip hop royalty B-Real from Cypress Hill and Chuck D of Public Enemy.

Kaepernick made national headlines when he decided not to stand for the national anthem during a pre-season football game, citing racial injustice and police brutality as his main reasons. The action has been taken but by other NFL teams, soccer players and high school athletes. As a result fans have taken to burning his jersey and the police have threatened to boycott 49er games by refusing to work at the stadium. They quickly rescinded their threat but their sentiment remains.

Self described as an elite task force of revolutionary musicians Prophets of Rage has embarked on the Make America Rage Again tour in order to confront this election year head on. The band has already crashed the Republican National Convention and they don’t appear to have any desire to quiet the rage just yet.
