Vigil for 19-year-old Killed by Fresno Police Turns Into Standoff

19-year-old Dylan Noble died in surgery Saturday evening after being shot by Fresno police officers.

Around 3:20pm on Saturday Fresno police were responding to a call about a person walking with a rifle. During their manhunt, they noticed Dylan Noble burning out in his pickup truck and pulled him over. When Dylan pulled over in the area of Shields and Armstrong, investigators say he didn’t comply with officers’ demands. Deputy Chief Pat Farmer said officers felt the man was reaching for a weapon when they shot him. No weapon was found at the scene.

“The subject was told to show his hands. The solo occupant of the pickup truck would show the officers one hand at a time and kept one hand hidden during the contact,” said Farmer.  “The subject made a statement that he hated his life and made affirmative movement to the small of his back at which time he was shot several times by officers at the scene.”

Hundreds gathered for a vigil held by friends and family on Sunday.

The vigil escalated fairly quickly into a street demonstration leading to a standoff with police.

Makayla Trice says “everything they have said about Dylan being ‘suicidal’ is a complete LIE, which has been confirmed by everyone who was with him in his final hours leading up to his murder.”

Supporters have started a petition to the Fresno Superior Court to release the body camera footage.

  1. wow they get to say “He said he wanted to kill himself and we havent gotten a chance to plant a wepon yet”

  2. Lying cops? Say it ain’t so.

  3. Think about it….what would a liar say if they were a cop and shot someone that was peeling out? Lol they would say exactly what they are saying. Because…….. yep they are liars.

  4. Defending non compliance is a pretty stupid thing to do, and most people are defending non compliance on social media. Everybody has a smart phone everyone has an opinion but the fact of the matter is if you comply you more than likely won’t get shot. Some cases do occur where a police shooting was unnecesary but this is definitely not one of those cases. If anyone decides to reach for their waist band while they are being instructed to show their hands or get on the ground or any other order then the police are trained to react a certain way to protect themselves. That should be common knowledge. Plus I beleive this kid was trying to commit suicide, the pd isn’t worried about hiding the body cam footage of the incident and are being transparent about this. But it wont ever be enough for people who demonize authority as a whole.

  5. Worthless ill trained scarred Cop’s TRIGGER Happy, Killing Unarmed Civilians, their all In It Together. Not One Cop Tries To Control The Other. Their Suppossed Be Protecting Civilians, but its always The Same Story, We Thought He Had A Gun! Where In Fact Their Was No Gun Found. This Week 3 Innocent Civilians Were Shot By Ill Trained Cops, the Polic Worried On How they Are Gonna Get Out Of This One, Nothing Said About The Civilians Who Were Killed By Their Officers. the Public Responds In Anger Kills a Few cops, and Now They respond Saying its a Sad Day The Poloice Department Needs To change Their Name To hypocrites.
