Chowchilla police shoot fleeing suspect after high-speed chase

CHOWCHILLA, CA–

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident that left one suspect with bullet wounds.  Sunday afternoon, Chowchilla police were involved in a high-speed pursuit when the vehicle crashed into a home.

Two suspects fled from the vehicle, but according to witnesses, it only took minutes for police to shoot one suspect in the hand and arrest him.  The other suspect was later found hiding in a bush.

The victim of the gunshot wound was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.

The dispatcher and officers involved are on administrative leave during the investigation.
