Friday, January 9th is the very first “Law Enforcement Appreciation Day“, which isn’t actually a holiday at all, but rather a political stunt sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police. That didn’t stop Aimee Williamson, wife of Bakersfield police chief, Greg Williamson, and principle of North Beardsley Elementary School from sending an email to teachers asking them to celebrate the fake holiday.
As a result of this email, first grade students were assigned by one teacher to write a letter to Bakersfield Police Department, thanking officers for “arresting the bad guys”, and “keeping the city safe”. They were also instructed to wear blue on Friday.
Some parents aren’t happy with these new assignments though, and have asked that political persuasions be left out of the classroom. Alicia Moore, who’s son’s father, James Moore, killed in custody by Bakersfield police in 2005, says she will be keeping her 6 and 7 year old kids home from school on Friday, but she’s disappointed to damage their record for perfect attendance.
North Beardsley Elementary is declining to comment about the controversy at this time.
Those teachers should consider all of the tax dollars that could be spent on education if it weren’t for the inflated salaries of the undereducated, unaccountable police force sucking the public teat dry. I guarantee you that these cops, who aren’t required to graduate high school to work for the majority of police departments in the US, have never, and will never consider holding a teacher appresciation day.
Thank them for being corrupt thugs.
Obviously their reputation is hurting, which is why they are pulling these stunts. The public is awakening to the biggest gang in the country, and no longer dealing with their bullshit.

If I were a parent of a 1st grader, I’d make my child wear either red (common opposite of blue), orange (its common complementary color), or yellow (its “other” complementary color)! In dat way, I’d show how opposed I’ve become 2 law enforcement! It’s da early 21st century and yet cops r breakin’ da very lasw they’re sworn 2 uphold! They act like their “blue privilege” protects them from just about everything! Blatant defiance! ‘Nuff said!
Mrs. Alicia Moore should take my advice and send her kid 2 school wearing one of 3 said colors!

I grew up in Bakersfield and went to both Beardsleys, the best thing about that was moving away from that hellhole od a town.

How about a day of recognition for the WRONGFULLY CONVICTED? In many ways, that is partly what the USA Constiution is about, which is about LIMITS TO THE GOVERNMENT.

It is definitely y a conflict of interest. I have asked one of the angry parents to contact the Aclu as I believe this is a civil rights issue. Children should not be forced to support something they may not understand. Those who support excessive force and killing the unarmed are now forcing children to support their agenda…..
